CISV Cincinnati’s Latest COVID19 Update
by cincinnati
March 17, 2020
Dear CISV families and friends,
We have just learned that CISV USA has made the difficult decision to cancel all events and trainings until May 15th. This comes after a recent update from the CDC.
CISV USA is also recommending that all local chapter in-person meetings and events be cancelled until May 15. We are encouraged to utilize virtual platforms for delegation, chapter, and JB meetings.
The effects of this recommendation, along with the recommendations from our state government and local health departments, have the following immediate impacts on our upcoming activities:
The Quarter Auction, scheduled for April 4, has been cancelled.
**This means delegations no longer have to assemble their delegation baskets for the event.**
We are still continuing the raffle to support all of our delegates and the raffle drawing will now take place May 1st “virtually” with the winner announced by email. Raffle tickets should now be turned into Julie by April 30th at 3320 Woodford Rd. Delegates can contact Julie here or 513-225-7178 to let her know how/when you will be turning them in. All raffle tickets – sold or unsold – need to be turned in.
As we have some donations for the Quarter Auction already in, we hope to have either a silent auction for these items at a future existing CISV event, like Bon Voyage, or possibly a rescheduled Quarter Auction in the fall.
The Board meetings for both April and May will be held as virtual meetings.
Forms Night, scheduled for April 30, has been postponed. New date TBD.
We have no news on the status of Summer Programs at this time, but can share the message that CISV‘s International Governing Board, International Risk Manager, the National Risk Manager for CISV USA, our Regional Risk Manager, our National Board and our Executive Director will all continue to monitor this situation. They report that they remain hopeful that summer programming will continue.
If you would like to discuss this, please email our chapter’s Risk Manager, Jeff Goodman here.
We thank you all for your continued patience as we navigate through this ever changing and unique situation. We will continue to provide updates as they arise.
