April 2020 – Newsletter
Hello CISV family and friends,
We hope you and your loved ones are healthy and in high spirits during this difficult time.
With heavy hearts, we regretfully announce that CISV International has made the unprecedented decision to cancel all international programs for the summer of 2020. This includes those being hosted (like our Village planned for June) and travel delegations/individual delegates to programs around the country and the world this June through August.
We have cancelled all in person CISV Cincinnati events through June, including the CISV Global Way Raffle. The money for any tickets that have been sold will be returned to our wonderful supporters. Thank you for understanding this call in these unusual circumstances.
While we are saddened by the events that have led to these decisions, we are proud of everyone in the CISV family, who has shown, once again, how seriously they take their responsibilities as active global citizens. They remind us that we are all interconnected and are stronger when we act together to respond to common problems.
We are grateful for all of our volunteers who have given their time and poured their hearts into local and global activities this past year. We look forward to time together in the future.
While we can’t meet in person, we can continue our mission of building global friendship. Please make sure that you are checking in with your friends from around the world, both near and far. They’ll be glad to hear from you.
We are grateful for your continued support of CISV. We have you all on our minds and in our hearts.
We hope that you and your families stay safe and healthy.
We are working on some sort of live activity within the next month. We will be notifying you about that over the reminders so keep your eyes peeled! Until then, to keep with the CISV spirit, we would recommend reconnecting with your camp friends over face time, or WhatsApp during this time. We have found it really rejuvenating and a good way to create social bonds without social contact while keeping up with your CISV friends!
