WE HAVE A NEW JB ADVISOR!
Please join me in welcoming Eins.
Hello everyone! My name is Eins Wanasathop and I’m from Bangkok, Thailand. I’m currently a grad student at UC. My experience with CISV were as a JC and Leader in villages. I just joined the chapter as JB advisor. We are excited to have so many upcoming events and we hope to see you soon!
JB has created a new Instagram account to share activities and other CISV news! You can follow it at @cisvcincinnati_jb.
Thank you for your part in making CISVCincinnati vital and engaged in building global friendship! CISVCincinnati is an all-volunteer organization. Your support helps us educate and inspire more youth from our local community. One of the ways you can sustain our chapter is through your membership, and by encouraging family and friends who have seen the positive impact CISV has had for you to become members, too. Please consider renewing your membership or becoming a member at just $25 for an individual or $50 for a family by clicking the following link. Information from CISV USA here.
Did You Know?
Your gift to CISVCincinnati could be matched dollar for dollar by your employer. Many employers sponsor matching gift programs and will match any charitable contributions or volunteer hours made by their employees, retirees and/or employees’ spouses. Find out if your employer has a matching gift program today!
Things are surely beautiful in this part of the world right now. We hope you have been enjoying the outdoors.
I am constantly amazed by the level of dedication and commitment to CISV that our volunteers show. We have already begun the important work of preparing for the Village we will host in the summer of 2022. It is my honor to work alongside all of the volunteers who make these international programs possible – and I truly look forward to the work ahead of us.
If you have not yet found your volunteer role in our chapter, know that we both need and welcome you. You can find out more about immediate volunteer opportunities here. Please take a moment to complete this volunteer survey so that we can match you with a volunteer opportunity that is best for you. This next year is bound to be a very exciting one! We are all so eager to get back to our beloved in person programs! I encourage you to get involved.
We will hold a (virtual) chapter meeting in May. All are welcome!
JB Cincinnati Updates
JB Cincinnati Community Night
When: 7 pm on Sunday, April 18th
Who: Anyone in the CISV area
We want to introduce new people to JB, so we’re hosting a community night over Zoom! We’ll talk a bit about JB, hear from some JBers about their experiences, and finish with a fun activity. If you are already a JBer and come to the activity, you’ll be able to join in the conversation and talk about CISV and JB. Don’t forget to tell your friends, anyone in the Cincinnati area is welcome to attend!
Make sure to fill out the sign-up form here so that you can receive the link to the Zoom meeting.
National Service Project
Here’s a message from our chapter’s NSP Liaison, Mia Gorman, about the upcoming National Service Project:
I am so excited to announce our National Service Project for this year! We will be doing an IN-PERSON mask drive! Please click here to learn more!
We want to hear what you’ve thought of the activities and other JB events we’ve hosted over the past few months. Please fill out this feedback form to let us know how we’re doing and when you prefer activities to take place. Form here.
JB Communication (Remind, Discord, and Instagram)
As a reminder (haha), we use Remind to communicate with JB. Here we send out info on activities, service projects, and more. To sign up, click here. If you just want to receive text notifications, then text @cisvjbc to 81010
If you’d like to join, we also have a Discord server. We’ve mostly switched to using Zoom for activities, but this is still a place where other JBers are, here.
Where was JB in March?
You might have noticed that we didn’t have any events or activities in March. We took the month to work on planning future events (like the community night) and take a bit of time off. We’re back now and are excited to host some more events and maybe even see you in-person this summer!
